eContractorBids.com was born in 2007. With the mission of providing “apples to apples” estimates and connecting consumers and building industry professionals through state-of-the-art technology and first-class customer service.

Founder, Adam Etrheim, started the business after years of working with his father’s, family owned construction business.  Etrheim’s experience since childhood coupled with being raised in the “internet generation” made a perfect fit to start eContractorBids.com. After a few years running a small construction outfit of his own, Etrheim noticed several benefits that the internet could provide for construction businesses.

In early 2007, Etrheim worked with The University of Wisconsin -La Crosse to develop a business plan that made it to the hands of several Angel Investors. In February of 2007, a group of Angel Investors made the commitment to back the company and support its operations. Since then, Etrheim says  “we haven’t looked back and continue to make great strides within the building industry”.

Etrheim began developing the website’s features in early 2008 and introduced its first test market in La Crosse, WI in May 2008. Contractors began signing up and consumer began posting jobs leading to many early advancements. Throughout the initial trial phase dozens of programmers, designers, and team members worked to complete the website and adapt to the contractor’s and consumer’s needs.

In May of 2009 eContractorBids.com was featured in the Wall Street Journal and has been readily expanding into new markets since. Today, eContractorBids.com operates in 15 markets and caters to over 10 million consumers using regional offices providing local customer service and support that is a critical to each project’s success.
